DESCRIPTION
Day 1:
We ride from Cusco to Calca on our private bus. Passing through the beautiful Valley of Calca, we arrive at the starting point of our trail, the Valley of Acchauata. Our hike takes us past beautiful lagunas and we stop for lunch with a local farmer family in this high and peaceful part of the Andes. At day’s end we set up camp on the pampa, where we enjoy a delicious dinner and spend the night. (Total hiking: 25 km)
Day 2:
After an early breakfast we pass by Huawacane, where we see the first foundations of Inca houses. The Inka canals also begin here, and we folow them for the rest of our hiking. Below us we see Laguna Ccillacocca, which means “ laguna of the moon “. In the afternoon we visit the beautiful and impressive Inca ruins of Huawacane. This old Inka citadel is build on a small top of a mountain, strikingly situated between two deep valleys. Hundreds of years of vegetation and farming in this area make it an untouched pearl of the Inkas. Here we have the Super Interesting “Real Andean Ritual” , a payment to the earth on the strongest energetically point of the mountain. (Total Hiking: 15 km)
Day 3:
Walking down an old Inka path, we pass by an Inka grave and we arrive at the village of Choquecancha. Here we explore the foundations of an old Inka temple. We pass by the antique church of the patron of Santiago, and cross the river Chopan on an old Inka bridge called Ccachanaca. After 4 hours’ hiking, we arrive in Lares, where we enjoy lunch in the main plaza. After we leave Lares by private bus for going to Ollantaytamb. Here we have dinner in a typical Pêruvian restaurant. At 8.00 o.m. we take the backpackertrain to Aguas Calientes where we spend the night in our Hostal (Total hiking: 20 km)
Day 4:
After breakfast we ride by bus to the lost citadel of the Inkas Machu Picchu. We’ll immediately begin a complete guided tour of this amazing Inka citadel, which after you will have free time to explore. You can climb Huaynapicchu Mountain, to enjoy spectacular views of Machu Picchu and the valleys and mountains that surround it; or you can visit the Temple of the Moon and the fascinating Inka bridge. In the afternoon we will meet in the town of Aguas Calientes, where, if you like, you can visit and relax in the thermal baths. At 4:00we will take the train back to Cusco and arrive after nightfall. (Total hiking: 5 km)

What to bring
- One sleeping bag per person: You can rent a sleeping bag from Bramatours/Birdingperu our sleeping bags are -5ºC-comfort. Costs US$ 16.00 for 4 days.
- Backpack with a change of clothes for the whole period of the trek.
- Rain jacket or poncho
- Strong footwear, ideally trekking or sport shoes.
- Warm clothes, including jacket, fleece and sweaters.
- Flashlight and batteries.
- Camera, films and batteries (batteries consume more quickly under cold conditions).
- Hat or cap to protect you from the sun, rain or cold.
- Sun block and insect repellent.
- Towels.
- Toilet paper.
- Snacks: biscuits, energy bars, chocolate, etc.
- Water bottle, ideally non disposable canteen and sterilizing tablets ie.Micropur.
- Swimsuit (if you intend to go to the hot springs, towels can be rent in Aguas Calientes)
